Take Me out to the Ballgame

Welcome to my first blog. I am going to attempt to attend a home game at every major league hockey, basketball, baseball and football venue in the course of a single year. I am also going to try and to drive the entire way, although, depending upon next year's football schedule, that may turn out to not be possible.

I thought a blog might be the best way to document the adventure. I am also going to try to learn to use Instagram, so that I can post pictures of what I do. Because I will have free time in the car getting from place to place, I will be absorbing a number of books, and listening to a lot of talk radio, so this blog will also reflect my thoughts on what I am reading (not actually reading, but listening), so it is likely that I will comment on current events. Advance warning, since it is an election year, there are likely to be comments about politics. I will do my best to not be too partisan, but in today's world, it is difficult to avoid that perception. Anyway, I will be open to any comments anyone might have, even if they express views that are the total opposite of mine. I am a big believer that we should be able to agree to disagree, without being disagreeable.

My first trip is to the West Coast. I figured as long as I am going to so many sporting events, I might as well throw in some other iconic events. I am starting with the Rose Bowl on January 1.

This could be quite expensive, so if anyone out there has tickets they want to make available, that would be a big help. If you have some, and there is anything from my adventure that you would like to receive from my adventure, I am all ears.

On January 5, 2022, it was off to Sacramento for NBA basketball. The drive was uneventful, as I went up through central California on Highway 99. I stayed south of Sacramento in Elk Grove, in order

Philadelphia Flyers vs. Anaheim Ducks - 1/4/21

The Ducks play at the Honda Center in Anaheim, less than three miles from Disneyland. It is a very nice stadium, with wide concourses and substantially more food choices than Arena. Again

Clippers vs. Timberwolves - 1/3/22

My first NBA game was at Arena, which really threw me, because I thought the Clippers and Lakers both played at Staples Center. It turns out that Staples gave up the naming rights, so it
