On January 5, 2022, it was off to Sacramento for NBA basketball. The drive was uneventful, as I went up through central California on Highway 99. I stayed south of Sacramento in Elk Grove, in order to shorten the drive the next day.
The arena, being the Golden 1 Center, was very nice. It was situated about six blocks from the State Capitol Building, and I was able to park there and walk over to the arena, which was a nice walk. Like most of the venues, there are quite a few eating and entertainment venues nearby.
The game itself was nothing to write home about. Atlanta got off to an early lead, and Sacramento never really got close. I was disappointed that Trae Young did not play that day. I do not know if he was injured, or if it was a Covid protocol. It was fun to watch Kevin Huerter, who came off the bench to lead the team in points, rebounds and assists, with double figures in rebounds and points. there were very few names I recognized, but there were a couple of former Mavericks (Harrison Barnes and Delon Wright) who I did recognize.
The food options were very good, with a lot of different options, including pizza, barbecue and Korean. However, the options were not as varied in the upper bowl as they were in the lower bowl.
Well, I guess this was your most uneventful experience so far…but, sounds like you’re having fun. What food option did you choose, Korean?
